Pipelines,
not vibes.

Hey! I'm Jian Ron (陈渐荣), a Computer Science undergrad at NUS who fell in love with the plumbing of software: pipelines, infra, and the systems that keep things running.

Right now I'm doing SRE at Central Provident Fund Board, working on Azure infrastructure serving 4M+ CPF members. Outside internships, I help run Sheares Web at my hall, leading 16 developers shipping tools used by 400+ residents.

When I'm not staring at Terraform plans, I'm probably tinkering with my poker bot or losing to it.

Security scanning, infra changes, and pipeline reliability across ~30 repos for Azure GCC systems serving 4M+ CPF members, incl. frontline support for failing builds
Built weekly security scan orchestration across 3 Azure DevOps projects, wiring SonarQube, Fortify, Mend, and Trivy into 20+ pipelines with findings normalised into one weekly report
Added Trivy IaC and image scanning to shared templates consumed by 170+ pipelines; upgraded GitVersion across 14+ YAML templates off end-of-life runners
Provisioned Key Vault private endpoints (public access disabled) and AKS version upgrades via Terraform across non-prod and prod

AllIn ♠

Heads-up poker bot built on CFR: a ~195K info-set blueprint trained over 52M self-play iterations, with a blueprint-anchored river solver that re-solves the final street live. Served via a Flask/gunicorn API with game state in DynamoDB, on AWS behind Cloudflare with OIDC-based CI/CD.

A distributed job scheduler in Go built around one promise: every job runs, and no job takes effect twice. Microservices on Postgres and a 3-broker Kafka cluster, with a transactional outbox so a crash between the DB write and the publish can't lose a job. Next up: Redis-backed fenced leases and Prometheus/Grafana autoscaling on consumer lag. Work in progress.

Chess position with an engine explanation panel

Chess Engine ♞

A RAG pipeline that grounds LLM chess explanations in Stockfish analysis and retrieved human commentary, so the "why" behind a move is backed by an engine, not vibes. Work in progress.
